PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain white particles which have high white reflectance and are excellent in electrophoretic behavior, and to provide an image display medium and a device using the white particles, which have high whiteness degree comparable to that of paper and are excellent in display memorability. SOLUTION: The fine particles contain a copolymer in the form of a copolymerization product of a monomer (A) containing a compound of formula (I) (wherein a hydrogen atom which is bound to the naphthalene ring is optionally substituted with a 1-12C alkyl group or a halogen group) as at least one monomer (A1) and has a basic or acidic group.
