PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device in which a circuit for monitoring abnormality of a supply voltage can be constituted of the reduced number of elements. SOLUTION: The plasma display device includes; a plasma display panel provided with a plurality of discharging cells having display electrode pairs composed of scan electrode and sustain electrodes and data electrodes; a scan electrode drive circuit for applying a scan pulse voltage to scan electrodes; a control circuit for controlling generation of the scan pulse voltage; and a scan pulse voltage monitoring circuit 530 which generates a monitoring voltage Vk from a supply voltage Va for use in the scan electrode drive circuit and detects whether the monitoring voltage Vk is within a predetermined supply voltage set range or not. Furthermore, the plasma display device includes a mother voltage monitoring circuit 540 which detects whether a mother voltage Vmon being a source of the supply voltage for use in the control circuit is within a predetermined mother voltage set range or not and forcibly varies the monitor voltage Vk to a voltage being on the outside of the supply voltage set range when the mother voltage Vmon deviates from the mother voltage set range.
