<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing a letterpress plate that prints a fine pattern and to provide a method for manufacturing the letterpress plate. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus of producing a transmission light control type mask is equipped with: a mask processing data creating means which creates and holds transparent data and light-shielding data from platemaking data including editing and composing information having fine print form information, acquires the fine print form information of the platemaking data, selects transparent data adjacent to the fine print form from the stored transparent data and converts the data into semitransparent data, and creates mask processing data from the transparent data, the semitransparent data and the light shielding data; a laser light control means which acquires the mask processing data and outputs luminous energy control information to control the luminous energy of laser light according to the mask processing data; and a laser light irradiating means which receives the luminous energy control information and irradiates a mask base with laser light of the controlled luminous energy to produce a transmission light control type mask. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
