<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct formic acid fuel cell capable of securing its long-term operation by controlling concentration of formic acid in real time and its operation method. <P>SOLUTION: The direct formic acid fuel cell comprises a unit cell 10 having an anode 12, a polymer electrolyte, and a cathode 11, formic acid supply parts (21, 22, 23) to supply formic acid as fuel to the anode 12, an air supply part 60 to supply air to the cathode 11, a formic acid concentration measuring instrument 30 to measure the concentration of a part of formic acid to be supplied to the anode 12, and a control part 40 which receives the measured value from the formic acid concentration measuring instrument 30, compares it with the range of concentration value established beforehand, and controls the concentration of the formic acid supplied to the anode 12 at real time corresponding to real time measurement of the formic acid concentration instrument 30 so that the concentration value measured may not be out of the range of the established concentration value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
