<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a mounting mechanism for a mounting portion and a positioning condition making mounting simple and reliable, reduce mounting force, and secure a good connection condition of a supply port and a contact portion in an ink tank having the ink supply port and the contact portion to present the information of the ink tank side by contact between electrical contacts. <P>SOLUTION: An engagement section 5 that can be engaged by engaging with an engagement section 155 to be a positioning reference during mounting onto a holder 150 is provided on the rear side of the ink tank 1, and a support member 3 applying elastic force to engage is provided on the front side of the ink tank 1. The supply port is arranged at the bottom of the ink tank between the rear side and the front side.
