PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cache system applicable to a large scale network. SOLUTION: A cache management server shares and manages information on contents accumulated in a cache system and, when it receives a request of the contents transferred by a router, selects a second cache server having the lowest processing load out of cache servers accumulating the requested contents. When the second cache server receives a transfer instruction, it transfers the requested contents to a first cache server. When the first cache server receives the transferred contents, it accumulates the received contents and notifies a cache management server for managing the information on the accumulated contents of an identifier of the accumulated contents and an identifier of the first cache server.
