PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery system that can prevent the life of a battery from being shortened even if voltage application is continued. SOLUTION: The battery system comprises: a battery module C to which a plurality of unit cells are connected in series; a charging switch S1 that is arranged between a charging terminal 11 fed with power from the outside and a positive electrode of the battery module; a diode D2 whose cathode is connected to a discharging terminal 12 that feeds power to the outside; and a discharging switch S2 that is arranged between an anode of the diode and the positive electrode of the battery module.
