PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a match period detecting apparatus capable of detecting a match period in a content, on the basis of voice data of the content including voice in a sport. SOLUTION: The match period detecting apparatus for detecting the match period from the content including the voice in the sport in which a whistle is blown at least at staring time and ending time of the match period, comprises: a first means in which, positions of CM (commercial message) groups included in the content are detected on the basis of the voice data of the content including the voice; a second means in which an output peak position and the level of sound of the whistle is detected on the basis of the voice data of the content; and a third means in which the match period of the content is detected on the basis of the positions of the CM groups detected by the first means, the output peak position and the level of the sound of the whistle detected by the second means and statistical time data which are set beforehand.
