PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a braking force control system with the braking performance and reliability of a vehicle enhanced. SOLUTION: The braking force control system comprises a front arithmetic unit 16 for controlling the drive of front braking devices 12a, 12b based on detected values of wheel speed sensors 14a, 14b, and a rear arithmetic unit 18 for controlling the drive of rear braking devices 12c, 12d based on detected values of wheel speed sensors 14c, 14d. The front arithmetic unit 16 and the rear arithmetic unit 18 are connected to each other via a communication line 20. The front arithmetic unit 16 acquires wheel speed information or vehicle body speed information based on the detected value of the wheel speed sensors 14c, 14d corresponding wheels to be controlled of the rear arithmetic unit 18 from the communication line 20, and performs the drive control of the front braking devices 12a, 12b of the wheels for self control based on the acquired information.
