PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner performing preferable air circulation, coping with change of the layout, and having no possibility of overturning even though it has a large size. SOLUTION: This air cleaner 2 is mounted with an air cleaning unit 8 provided with a fan 12 and a filter 13 on a front panel 17, adjustable in height, its upper end part can abut on a ceiling face 3 of a clean room 1, and its lower end part is supported on the floor face 4 of the clean room 1. When the air cleaner is installed in a given state in the clean room 1, a panel closing a space 22 in the air cleaner 2 to the outside is not provided on the rear face side facing an end part wall face 6 of the clean room 1 to allow the rear face side to abut on the end part wall face 6.
