PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for reducing a thickness difference of a filter membrane to provide a further constant thickness. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of a ceramic filter comprises a first process of erecting a porous body 12 formed with a flow passage 13 with one end face 14a facing upward, supplying slurry for the filter membrane to the flow passage 13, depositing solid matter contained in the slurry on the inner wall face of the flow passage 13 to form a first filter membrane layer 15a; and a second process of erecting a porous body 12 formed with the first filter membrane layer 15a with the other end face 14b facing upward, supplying slurry for the filter membrane to the flow passage 13, depositing solid matter contained in the slurry on the inner wall face of the flow passage 13 to form a second filter membrane layer 15b.
