<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically restart an outdoor unit when a failure occurs in an actuator of the outdoor unit. <P>SOLUTION: The outdoor unit 41 comprises an outdoor unit control circuit 411, an inverter board 412 and a compressor 413. A periodic communication for showing the operating conditions of the inverter board 412 is set from the inverter board 412 to the outdoor unit control circuit 411. When the communication is performed normally, a change in drive of the compressor 413 is executed as energy-saving processing according to whether electric power is needed or not and to operation conditions of the inverter board 412.
