PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal transmission apparatus capable of improving the sureness of signal transmission and allowed to be manufactured at low cost. SOLUTION: The signal transmission apparatus which can be connected to an information processing apparatus but is independent of the information processing apparatus is provided with: a variable length code transmission means; a transmitting information receiving means for receiving an input of transmitting information from the information processing apparatus and storing the received information in a storage device; and a transmission control means for transmitting a variable length code expressing contents of the transmitting information from the variable length code transmission means.
