PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material for light diffusion sheets which will not form hard cakes, excels in storage stability, ensures high light diffusion properties, even when the amount of light diffusing agent is small, and gives a light diffusion sheet which is free of the occurrence of aggregates and partially uneven diffusion in a light diffusion layer and ensures high abrasion resistance of the light diffusion layer, and a light diffusion sheet, having a light diffusion layer composed of a coating film of such a coating material. SOLUTION: The coating material for light diffusion sheets contains a binder resin (A) and polycarbonate resin particles (B) that has an inditerminate form.
