PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new boron nitride nanotube dispersion which is uniform and transparent by polymer wrapping of boron nitride nanotubes, a method for producing the same, and a method for refining boron nitride nanotubes using the dispersion. SOLUTION: Boron nitride nanotubes are added to a solution prepared by dissolving poly[m-phenylenevinylene-co-(2,5-dioctoxy-p-phenylenevinylene)] in an organic solvent such as chloroform, and after ultrasonic treatment at room temperature for 2 h, insoluble matter is removed by centrifugal separation to produce the objective uniform and transparent dispersion. Boron nitride nanotubes uniform in diameter can be obtained by evaporating the organic solvent from the dispersion and removing the poly[m-phenylenevinylene-co-(2,5-dioctoxy-p-phenylenevinylene)] by thermal decomposition.
