PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method for producing an alkylaminopropionic amide which is easily converted into N-substituted or N, N-disubstituted acrylamide through thermal decomposition, by using an inexpensive methyl(meth)acrylate and effectively recovering amine and reusing the same. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the method for producing the alkylaminopropionic amide derivative comprising a reaction of methyl(meth)acrylate with a mixture of an amine and methanol to convert into a derivative of alkylamino(meth)acrylic acid methyl ester, and then producing the alkylaminopropionic amide by reacting with the same amine, wherein the mixture of the amine and methanol contains an azeotropic mixture of the amine and methanol and the methanol is distilled off after converting into the derivative of the alkylaminoacrylic acid methyl ester.
