The front unit (10) of the vehicle, assembled of the bumper and its carrying elements (12) and the longitudinally positioned crash boxes (30) is connected to the front of the side members (16). Two hollow profiles (26) are vertically positioned between the crash boxes (30) and the side members (16), each of them assembled of two shells. Inserts enveloping the front of the side members (16) are added before the two shells are connected in order to prevent a substantial deformation of the unit (10) in case of a minor impact.
