<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that improves accuracy in the correction of image displacement by highly accurately calculating the speed change information of a specific rotational body in the image forming apparatus body. <P>SOLUTION: On the basis of the mark position information of a mark pattern 36 formed on an intermediate transfer belt 8, an arithmetic mark pattern data 42 is newly formed. From this arithmetic mark pattern data 42, the speed change information (amplitude and phase) of a photoreceptor drum 1 is calculated.
