<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road profile estimating device, an obstacle detection device and a road profile estimating method which enable the accurate and appropriate estimation of the road profile where an own vehicle is going to travel. <P>SOLUTION: The road profile estimating device for estimating road profile in the advancing direction of an own vehicle is equipped with a front millimeter wave radar 3 for detecting the position of an object existing in the advancing direction of the own vehicle, an estimation range setting part 21 which sets the range away from the own vehicle by not less than the advancing direction distance threshold TH<SB>z</SB>determined by a physical value caused by a collision prediction time of the own vehicle and the obstacle to an estimation range for estimating the road profile, and a road profile estimation part 22 which estimates the road profile from the object detected in an estimation range to be set among the objects detected from the front millimeter wave radar 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
