PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide valuable printed matter with an identification mark formed of a plurality of piles anchored by flocking which especially enhances "touch identifiability", i.e. identifying by a sense of finger tip of a blurred vision person and a physically sound person, and gives "vision identifiability", i.e. identifying by the sense of vision of the physically sound person after finger touch, and further, ensures the effective proofness to forgery, with regard to the mode of valuable printed matter such as bank notes, securities and gift certificates. SOLUTION: This valuable printed matter has the identification mark formed of a plurality of piles anchored by flocking, on one surface of a base. The identification mark has a background region where not less than one kind of monotone piles dyed in a single color are anchored and a latent image region where at least one kind of two-tone piles dyed in at least two colors, having the identical color of the upper end part, on the opposite side to the base of the anchored piles, with the color of the monotone piles.
