PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device or the like configured to produce an output signal that indicates an operating state of a monitored circuit. SOLUTION: An input signal relating to a monitored circuit is received at an input node. A pulse train generator coupled to the input node is configured to generate a pulse train with a predetermined repetition rate at a duty cycle alternated between a first duty cycle value and a second duty cycle value at a predetermined frequency.
