PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a waveform in a desired position even if an internal reference mode is changed to an external reference mode. SOLUTION: A reference selection button 60 can change internal/external reference modes. A user operates a phase adjustment knob 64 looking at a display device 54, and adjusts phase relation between an external reference video signal and a measured video signal. If an offset reserve button 66 is pressed when it becomes appropriate relationship, a phase offset at the time is memorized in a memory 56. A CPU 30 reads out the phase offset if needed, at a time to turn on a power source of a waveform display device, etc., controls a phase adjustment circuit 44, and makes it adjust a phase relation between the external reference video signal and the measured video signal.
