PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bus communication system capable of continuing to operate even a partial normal part without stopping the operation of the entire bus communication system by using a new fault determination method instead of using the number of identifiers set for determining a fault. SOLUTION: A master device 2 is daisy-chained to a plurality of slave devices 5-12. The slave devices 5-12 determine the short-circuiting and open-circuiting faults of a bus switch 5b, ... based on a response current signal outputted to the master device 2 when each identifier is acquired.
