PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can execute print processing of communication data by effectively utilizing another image forming apparatus connected to a network when a present apparatus cannot directly process the communication data in the case of receiving and printing the communication data stored in an external relay server apparatus (electronic mail server). SOLUTION: When the first facsimile machine (image forming apparatus) X discriminates that the facsimile machine cannot directly process (reception and printing) electronic mail data on the basis of the comparison between a data size of the electronic mail data obtained from the responded electronic mail server 2 and a free capacity of a data storage section 15 of its own machine (S104), the first facsimile machine X requests another facsimile machine X capable of executing prescribed relay processing (reception of the electronic mail data, division of attached image data, and transmission to the first facsimile machine) to execute the "relay processing" (S107), and prints out an image corresponding to original attached image data by sequentially printing division image data obtained by the "relay processing" (S108 to S110).
