PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deflector type ball screw, heightening the rigidity of an arm in a deflector member, securing the positioning accuracy and fixing force of the deflector member to a nut, and improving reliability at low cost. SOLUTION: This deflector type ball screw includes a deflector member 5, which is fitted to a deflector window 6 bored in a barrel part of the nut 3 and provided with a coupling groove 5a taking a rolling passage as a revolving passage, wherein the deflector window 6 is formed substantially circular, corresponding thereto, the deflector member 5 is formed of sintered alloy to have a substantially circular section by MIM, and a pair of arms 9 are projected on both sides of the deflector member 5, the diameters D of these arms 9 being set in a range of 0.7 to 0.9, which is the diameter Dw of the ball 4, and engaged with a thread groove 3a of the nut 3 and positioned, whereby the deflector member 5 can be stably positioned and fixed to the nut 3 without obstructing smooth rotary motion, and the reliability against slipping-off of the deflector member 5 from the nut 3 can be improved.
