PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine suppressing fluctuation in ignition timing even if a pulse supercharging valve is adopted. SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine 1 has the pulse supercharging valve 12 disposed along an intake passage 5 to open/close the intake passage 5. The internal combustion engine further has a control means 20 for matching ignition timing when pulse supercharging is performed after controlled variables relating to the ignition timing of the internal combustion is corrected, with standard ignition timing when normal combustion is performed. Since the control means 20 matches the ignition timing with the standard ignition timing in normal combustion if there is a possibility of changing a temperature in a cylinder when the pulse supercharging is performed, the fluctuation in ignition timing is suppressed. In the internal combustion engine of the present invention, degradation in combustion such as misfire or deterioration in emission such as smoke and combustion noise do not occur even when the pulse charging is performed.
