PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car of an elevator enabling the maintenance of visibility and aesthetic appearance in normal times other than maintenance and inspections and enabling a reduction in load on service persons and time for maintenance and inspections. SOLUTION: This car 2 comprises a car body 5 having a top board 5a with light transmittancy, a car frame 6 having a pair of vertical frames 61a, 61b positioned on both sides of the top board 5a and supporting the car body 5, a pair of support rails 71a, 71b positioned above the top board 5a and facing the pair of vertical frames 61a, 61b, and a scaffold plate 72 installed between these support rails 71a, 71b, formed flexibly, and bent to the ends T1 of the pair of support rails 71a, 71b for storage.
