PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller hemming technique which is suitable for a workpiece having a curved edge portion. SOLUTION: A roller hemming apparatus 10 comprises a workpiece-mounting member 20 for mounting the workpiece 11, a hemming roller 30 having a primary bending surface 32 composed of a tapered surface making a first angleθ1 with respect to a roller rotary axis 31 and a secondary bending surface 33 composed of a tapered surface making a second angleθ2 with respect to the roller rotary axis 31, a roller moving mechanism 40 for relatively moving the hemming roller 30 along a flange 12 projecting from the workpiece 11, and a guide portion 21 for guiding the secondary bending surface 33 in bending the flange 12 by means of the primary bending surface 32. As a result, the difference of peripheral speeds between the secondary bending surface 33 and the guide portion 21 does not occur.
