The ligating apparatus has the thread receiving portion 50 movably disposed back and forth at the distal end of the inserting part body. Outer circumference of the thread receiving portion 50 forms the loop holding portion 52 around which the knot forming loop 51 formed from the ligature 40 is disposed. When the first end of the ligature 40 is pulled into the thread receiving portion 50 , the knot forming loop 51 is pushed out of the loop holding portion 52 by the delivery portion 62 of the knot pusher 59 . The knot forming loop 51 is further pushed by the delivery portion 62 along the ligature 40 toward the tissue W 1 and ligated. The present invention provides a ligating apparatus capable of reducing the load on the tissue to be ligated during ligating operation.
