<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device for a front passenger seat capable of accurately protecting a seated occupant in response to his build. <P>SOLUTION: This airbag device for a front passenger seat is provided with an airbag 20 having an occupant crash protecting part 27 capable of interfering with the occupant on a rear side when inflation is concluded. A vertical tether 32 is arranged inside the airbag 20 so as to regulate shape of the airbag 20 in response to the sitting occupant when concluding inflation. The occupant crash protection parts 27 are arranged in parallel with each other in the right and left direction when inflation of the airbag 20 is concluded, and respectively provided with a right and a left shoulder restraint parts 28R and 28L arranged freely to interfere with the occupant's right and left shoulders. The vertical tether 32 is structured freely to change a horizontal distance between the shoulder restraint parts 28R and 28L when inflation of the airbag 20 is concluded between a wide distance D2 corresponding to a large occupant and a narrow distance D1 corresponding to a small occupant in response to the seated occupant. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
