摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an NOx occlusion-reduction type catalyst which can control sulfur poisoning and has high durability by using a catalyst carrier in which the features of each metal element constituting a compound oxide are developed at the maximum. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst support which has pores in a meso-pore region and contains tetragonal zirconia and in which at least parts of ZrO<SB>2</SB>and TiO<SB>2</SB>are converted into a ZrO<SB>2</SB>-TiO<SB>2</SB>solid solution by burning a precipitate coprecipitated from a solution of acid salts of Al, Zr, and Ti at 650&deg;C or above is prepared.
