<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium processing device, an electronic settlement terminal device and a control method therefor that process recording media such as IC cards in a short processing time. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic settlement terminal device 30, which comprises electronic settlement modules 33 and 34 for executing mutual authentication processing to an electronic money card 20 and, upon successful mutual authentication, accessing a value recorded in a secure storage area 21b of the electronic money card 20 to execute electronic settlement processing, comprises a terminal control part 31 for requesting a card identification code from the electronic money card 20 before starting the mutual authentication processing, and when acquiring a card identification code from the electronic money card 20 in response to the request, specifying the electronic settlement module that can execute the mutual authentication processing to the electronic money card 20 according to the acquired card identification code and executing the mutual authentication processing between the specified electronic settlement module and the electronic money card 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
