PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger which can charge a battery device consisting of an arbitrary number of cell assemblies manufactured by SCAT (Stackable Cell Assembly Technology) technology at once. SOLUTION: The charger comprises a cell group consisting of a plurality of cells, a section for containing a plurality of cell assemblies each having a terminal for charging the cell group, a first terminal board formed on the surface in the containing section and touching the charging terminal of a first cell assembly, a second terminal board touching the charging terminal of a second cell assembly, a switching element for switching the voltage from an AC power supply on/off, a means for rectifying/smoothing the voltage switched on/off by the switching element, and a means for applying a smoothed DC voltage to the first and second terminal boards, respectively.
