PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To investigate the cause when data cannot be recorded or reproduced in a disk changer provided with a recording and reproducing apparatus for recording and reproducing a thin optical disk. SOLUTION: When recording and reproduction cannot be performed though the thin optical disk (flexible disk) is accurately loaded on the recording and reproducing apparatus, a reference disk is loaded instead of the thin optical disk and an attitude control and optical correction plate first, and recording and reproduction are performed to the reference disk. When the recording and reproduction are possible, the attitude control and optical correction plate is changed to a spare attitude control and optical correction plate. When the recording and reproduction are impossible, it is determined that there is a problem in the recording and reproducing device, and the recording and reproducing apparatus is changed. After changing the attitude control and optical correction plate or the recording and reproducing apparatus, recording and reproduction are performed to the original thin optical disk.
