PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk player which can maintain the appropriate engagement between the slider of the pickup unit and the groove of the screw shaft. SOLUTION: The disk player has a pickup guide shaft 6 to support the pickup unit 8 in a manner free to move closer to or away from the turntable 5, a screw shaft 10 disposed parallel with the pickup guide shaft 6 and turned to move the pickup, and a pickup moving mechanism having a slider 13 which is provided for the pickup unit 8 to engage with the above screw shaft 10 and driven by the turn of this shaft 10.
