PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet postprocessor capable of efficiently postprocessing a sheet bundle stored in a stacker, by taking out the sheet bundle at any time, without interrupting operation such as printing and binding processing of a succeeding sheet. SOLUTION: This sheet postprocessor is provided with the stacker and a buffer tray means for temporarily holding the sheet bundle in a sheet bundle transfer passage on the upstream side of this stacker, and this buffer tray means temporarily holds a succeeding sheet bundle. Its means has a sheet loading means loading sheets in a bundle shape, a postprocessing means binding the sheet bundle together in a pamphlet shape, a stack means storing the sheet bundle from the postprocessing means, and a sheet bundle transfer passage for guiding the sheet bundle to the stack means from the postprocessing means. The buffer tray means temporarily holding the transferring sheet bundle, is arranged in the sheet bundle transfer passage, and is constituted so as to be freely movable between a holding position holding the sheet bundle by intruding into the sheet bundle transfer passage and a retreat position retreated from this passage.
