METHOD OF MANUFACTURING OPTICAL FIBER PREFORM, OPTICAL FIBER PREFORM AND OPTICAL FIBER MANUFACTURED USING THE SAME

A method for manufacturing an optical fiber preform, an optical fiber preform, and an optical fiber manufactured by using the same are provided to prevent effectively optical loss due to diffusion of hydration radical by implanting simultaneously a deposition layer forming gas and Cl2 gas into a quartz tube in a deposition process. A method for manufacturing an optical fiber preform includes a modified chemical vapor deposition method. The method includes a clad layer forming process and a core layer forming process. The clad layer forming process is performed to form a clad layer of a predetermined thickness by implanting a mixed gas of a clad layer forming gas and Cl2 gas into a preform tube. An outer circumference of the preform tube is heated in a temperature range of 1700 to 2500 degrees centigrade by a heating source transferred toward a processing direction. The core layer forming process is performed to form a core layer of a predetermined thickness by implanting the mixed gas of a core layer forming gas and the Cl2 gas into the preform tube including the clad layer.
