<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film with reduced unevenness of drying and blowing and having high surface uniformity, to provide an antireflection film having both sufficient antireflection performance and scratch resistance, to provide a fast coating method to obtain the above antireflection film with high productivity, and to provide a polarizing plate and an image display device using the above antireflection film. <P>SOLUTION: The optical film has an optical layer on a transparent support and is characterized in that the optical layer contains a thickener, the thickener shows a viscosity of 10 mPa sec or more when the thickener is added by 3 mass% to 2-butanone, and the optical layer has a film thickness of 5 μm or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
