<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an "a vehicle image recognition apparatus and its method" in which a learning time of an SVM sorter is shortened, then, an identification rate and a real-time property of vehicle image identification are improved. <P>SOLUTION: Learning samples are sorted based on a number of kinds of vehicle recognition features and SVM sorters corresponding to the vehicle features to perform learning using the sorted learning samples. When performing vehicle image recognition, a feature provided in an image to be recognized is extracted and the SVM sorter corresponding to the extracted feature is used to recognize a vehicle image included in the image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
