<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel hydrogen battery and its manufacturing method wherein battery capacity can be increased by effectively taking manganese ions contained in an alkaline electrolytic solution into a positive electrode. <P>SOLUTION: In the nickel hydrogen battery which is provided with the positive electrode having a nickel hydroxide as the active material, a negative electrode having a hydrogen storage alloy as the active material, a separator, and the alkaline electrolytic solution containing the manganese ions, the manganese ions are taken into the positive electrode, and a layer having high manganese concentration is formed on the front surface of the positive electrode. Moreover, in the manufacturing method of the nickel hydrogen battery, a resistor is connected to the nickel hydrogen battery after activation to store it at high temperatures. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
