<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and light-weight fixing apparatus which can output an image of high quality, at low cost, with a simple structure, with ease of maintenance, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the fixing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding the fixing apparatus including an air spraying means for spraying air from the downstream side of a nip part toward the vicinity of the nip part, the air spraying means includes: a first air spraying member for spraying air toward the vicinity of the nip part so as to peel the recording material from a heating means; a second air spraying member for spraying air toward the fixed recording material so as to cool the fixed recording material; a switching means for switching the first air spraying member and the second air spraying member to spray the air; and an air guiding member positioned under the recording material conveying path, provided to guide the air sprayed by the second air spraying member to the peripheral surface of the press-contact member so as to cool the press-contact member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
