PROCESS FOR TREATING WASTE CONTAINING VINYL CHLORIDE RESIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating waste containing vinyl chloride resin by which generation of dioxins is remarkably suppressed. SOLUTION: The method for treating waste containing vinyl chloride resin involves steps of (a) heating the waste containing vinyl chloride resin at 280-350°C in oxygen-free state for discharging dry distilled gas containing hydrochloric acid and oil from the waste; (b) obtaining plastic fuel from the heated wastes; (c) bringing the dry distilled gas into contact with water for dissolving hydrochloric acid contained in the distilled gas in water and at the same time discharging a dry distilled gas containing no hydrochloric acid; (d) adding calcium hydroxide to the water in which hydrochloric acid is dissolved for neutralization to produce calcium chloride; (e) separating oil from the neutralized water; (f) obtaining emulsion fuel by mixing oil and water; and (g) generating 2 or more sec convection flow of the dry distilled gas discharged in the step (c) at a temperature of 850°C or higher and successively quenching to a temperature of 70°C lower.
