PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source capable of generating basic wave having an appropriate wavelength, obtaining the stability of the wavelength in a laser beam to be oscillated, improving a noise characteristic, setting the wavelength of the laser beam by 0.1 mm as a unit which is obtained by oscillating natural emitted light longer in wavelength than excitation light by a resonator, and emitting the beam. SOLUTION: The light source includes: a semiconductor laser (1); a first optical waveguide (2) for guiding the excitation light from the laser; a second optical waveguide (3) for absorbing light from the optical waveguide, and emitting the natural emitted light longer in wavelength than the excitation light; a third optical waveguide (4) for introducing the light from the optical waveguide to an outer part; and a wavelength selecting element (7) and a polarizer (6) arranged between the second and third optical waveguides. The resonator (k) is formed from the semiconductor laser side from the wavelength selecting element to an emission side to the outer part. Then the light source emits the laser beam which is obtained by oscillating the natural emitted light by the resonator. When the shape of the second optical waveguide is mechanically fixed, the wavelength of the oscillation laser beam is set and also the characteristic is stabilized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
