PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of uneven charges and to obtain stable charging characteristics in a positive charge monolayer type electrophotographic photoreceptor used for an image forming apparatus of a contact charging system. SOLUTION: In the positive charge monolayer type electrophotographic photoreceptor to be applied to an image forming apparatus equipped with a charging means of a contact charging system type charging means, and an image forming apparatus using the photoreceptor, a value represented by IP1-IP2, with IP1 (eV) being the ionization potential of a hole transporting agent and IP2 (eV) being the ionization potential of a charge generating agent, is set to a range of 0.1 to 0.4 (eV), and the surface potential of the positive charge monolayer type electrophotographic photoreceptor upon superposing a DC voltage and an AC voltage is set to 300 V or more during contact charging in the positive charge monolayer type electrophotographic photoreceptor.
