PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double layer capacitor which can suppress the inconvenience of lowering of sealability and workability caused by the displacement and the like of the sealing plate against a concave vessel, as well as the lowering of electrical long term property. SOLUTION: The electric double layer capacitor houses in a housing container an electrolytic solution, a first electrode, a second electrode, a separator to separate the first electrode and the second electrode, and a first charge collector which combines with the first electrode. The housing container consists of a concave first container member, and a platy second container member heat-adhered to the opening of the first container member.
