PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element that is not only capable of achieving step simplification and cost-reduction when forming a light-emitting layer, but also capable of improving light-emission efficiency. SOLUTION: The organic EL element 1 is composed so that a green light-emitting layer, a red light-emitting layer, and a blue light-emitting layer are formed by a three-color-tone system. The organic EL element is also composed so as to have the blue light-emitting layer B, the red light-emitting layer R, and the green light-emitting layer G as the light-emitting layer for respectively forming a blue light-emitting region 11, a red light-emitting region 12, and a green light-emitting region 13. The green light-emitting layer G has a green light-emitting layer extension G1 provided so as to cover a face on the cathode side of the red light-emitting layer R in the red light-emitting region 12.
