PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a time-controlled type karaoke system that controls playing of a selected musical piece, when the operation time of a karaoke apparatus is restricted in a karaoke box etc., the karaoke system improving user's satisfaction by allowing the user to sing the complete musical piece being played, even if the restricted use time of the system has passed. SOLUTION: A charging processing means 29 sets the operation time of the system according to money received by a money receiving device 36, a system operation control means 30 makes the system start, when the operation time of the system is set for the first time, and a time integrating means 31 starts integrating the usage time. When the integrated time reaches the set operation time of the system, a playing state decision means 42 decides the playing status of the musical piece to stop the system operation, when the musical piece is not played or after the playing ends, when the musical piece is being played.
