In a power-driven slicing knife, the blade or blades may be rotated relative to the housing to allow of cutting in different planes without rotating- the housing. In the embodiment described, the tangs 19 of a pair of reciprocated blades 14 pass: through an opening (18) in a rotatable turret 17 and are retained in a pair of externally semicylindrical blade carriers 40 by means of a flat pivoted lever 47 loaded by means of a spring 51 and engaging a projection 20 on the tang. The blades may be released only when in the vertical position. by depressing button 16. The blade carriers 40 are located for rotative movement between the semicylindrical forward ends of driver bars 32 the flat rearward ends 31 of which are reciprocally driven by cam means. The rotation of the blade carriers is limited to 90 degrees by bosses (41) moving in arcuate slots in the driver bars.</p> |
