<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device that is free of fogging and tire tracks and can obtain an image of high quality free of an image defect such as a white void due to a leak in a nonmagnetic single-component jumping development system. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device having a developer container containing a developer and a developer carrier disposed opposite to an electrostatic latent image carrier is characterized in that the closest distance between the developer carrier and electrostatic latent image carrier is 100 to 250 μm, maximum electric field intensity between the developer carrier and electrostatic latent image carrier is 5.0×10<SP>6</SP>to 1.0×10<SP>7</SP>V/m, and the developer carrier has at least a conductive base, a conductive resin layer, and a surface layer formed on the conductive resin layer and containing polysiloxane having at least an oxyalkylene group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
