<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handwriting input device, a handwriting input method and a computer program for enlarging a predetermined input area as the object of input only when a user intends to operate expanded-display and then input handwriting. <P>SOLUTION: One or more pieces of input area information existing on a screen is stored, and when acquired coordinate values are not within a predetermined input area nor an enlargement input area, whether or not the accepted input is an enlargement instruction is decided. When it is decided that the accepted input is the enlargement instruction, and there is an enlargement input area, the enlargement input area and an input area as the object of the enlargement instruction are specified, and when there is no expanded input area, only the predetermined input area as the object of enlargement instruction is specified, and the specified predetermined input area is enlargement-displayed. Only when there is any specified enlargement input area, the specified enlargement input area is reduction-displayed with handwriting to the original size.
